Infographic Ross one of Aching Arms Ambassadors

04/06/2024

Today, we shine a spotlight on Ross who not only fundraises for Aching Arms, but is also one of our wonderful ambassadors. Ross gives his time in memory of his son, Aaron Lewis.

This is Ross' story:

"In August 21016 my wife Natalie and I lost our son Aaron Lewis and struggled immensely with our grief whilst still trying to be Mum and Dad to our other 2 children Thomas and Caitlyn.

We were given an Aching Arms comfort bear on behalf of another grieving family. Never before, has something so simple as a little teddy bear meant so much to a family. Any moments of any of us were feeling overwhelmed or just hurting with grief, another member of the family would go and get our bear and give it to us to hold as our comfort.    From that moment on I wanted to give back to Aching Arms anyway possible. I represented Aching Arms in the London Marathon in 2020 which was delayed and eventually was a virtual marathon which I completed. I now have just completed my 3rd marathon for Aching Arms as well as the UK three peaks and other challenges, all raising awareness and funding on behalf of Aching Arms.

I volunteer as an Ambassador for Aching Arms and attend events representing the charity. I will continue to support Aching Arms in any way I can. Without a doubt Aching Arms made such a positive impact to me and my family and make us feel part of the Aching Arms family."
