Today, we shine a spotlight on Donna, one of our Trustees at Aching Arms, Donna gives her time in memory of her daughter Violet.
This is Donna's story:
"I lost my daughter Violet during pregnancy 13 years ago and remembered walking out of the hospital holding onto a pillow and desperately missing my baby that I’d had to leave behind in hospital. I found Aching Arms shortly after that and made it a personal mission to get their wonderful bears into our local hospital alongside providing training for midwives about the importance of giving a bear and the opportunity to support families in their care. Being involved with Aching Arms means that my daughter’s legacy lives on and I get to think about her and connect with her whilst also giving back to a charity that does so much good for so many families. A couple of years ago I became a trustee, putting my strategy, change and transformation skills to good use supporting the growth of Aching Arms. It’s a big responsibility but so very rewarding and I feel privileged that I get to support the charity in achieving its goals and supporting more families."
