Today, we shine a spotlight on Adam, one of our Ambassadors. Adam gives his time in memory of his son Joel.

This is Adam's story:

"We were introduced to Aching Arms by our bereavement midwife after we lost our first son Joel in 2018. After the support it gave my wife and I, we knew we had to help other bereaved parents who would go through the same.

We took part in a training video for healthcare professionals, knowing our personal experiences would help potentially thousands of midwives, nurses, and other professionals in the future. From that moment, I knew I had to get more involved in spreading awareness of the charity and have since become an ambassador and involved myself with:

Three Peaks Challenge with Amanda Holden
Global’s Make Some Noise Day - speaking about our experience with Aching Arms across the Global radio network.
Charity 11-a-side football match
London Landmarks Half-Marathon Mascot Dash
AGM Presentational talk.

The charity has been a beacon of light and support during darker times, particularly form the Supporting Arms for Dads group, knowing there are other people who can share experiences and learn to handle the grief and pain of baby loss. By spreading awareness of the charity, I hope to help as many other parents and families as possible."
