In a heart warming display of resilience and camaraderie, we teamed up with our friends at The Lily Mae Foundation, to play an unforgettable game of football as part of our Be Together programme. Our goal? To bring together a team of dads and their families and give them a chance to find comfort, support and friendship whilst playing in memory of their precious babies.

The Aching Arms Be Together Project, in collaboration with The Lily Mae Foundation, is excited to announce our upcoming event for bereaved Dads—a friendly football match. This event aims to bring together fathers who have experienced the loss of their baby, providing an opportunity for them to connect with others who share a similar journey. Join us at the Birmingham City Training ground on Sunday, 2nd July, and be part of this empowering and supportive community gathering.

Luke is a doctoral researcher from the University of Surrey who is leading this research project, which looks into the impact of perinatal loss on Dads and partners. Luke is looking for dads and partners willing to take part in his research project.

Bringing comfort and support after pregnancy and baby loss, is at the heart of our charity, and this is why our 140 volunteers give their free time and skills to Aching Arms. Many of our volunteers also feel helping others, supports them on their grief and healing journeys.

Christine joined Aching Arms as an ambassador and postal volunteer after her precious son was born sleeping in 2020.
During Volunteers Week we will be sharing some of the stories of our volunteers who support us.
Kay volunteers her time across a number of London Hospitals, preparing and delivering bears.
Kay also supports Aching Arms with building connections with health professionals so that our Bears reach more bereaved families.
Lynne is one of our hospital volunteers. Lynne got involved with Aching Arms following the loss of her baby Findlay who was born sleeping in 2013.

Tom Donaldson is one of our Supporting Arms for Dads Volunteers and also the writer of "You are a Dad...you always will be" - A guide for Dads following the loss of your baby.
