10/04/2024

On Sunday 7th April 2024, we were delighted to support 14 fantastic Team Aching Arms runners in the London Landmarks Half Marathon.

This iconic closed-road half marathon follows a route through both the City of London and Westminster. Our vibrant and loud Aching Arms cheer station hosts - Karen, Ilana, and Roberta - were excited to see all our runners at least twice throughout the race in an emotional day for everyone in memory of such precious babies.

Karen Summers, our Community & Events Fundraising Manager said “What a day! We’re so incredibly proud of our runners who all got round safely and have shown such wonderful camaraderie and support for each other in the months of training leading up to race day. We’re extremely grateful for the awareness they have raised, and the vital funds raised for Aching Arms to help us continue our bereavement care work”.

The day was rounded off beautifully by our charity ambassador, Adam Manning, winning the 100m Mascot Dash dressed in our Dandelion Bear mascot costume. There are over 500 charity partners at the LLHM and Aching Arms was one of 8 charities chosen to take part. Adam said “It was a real honour to be asked to compete in the Mascot Dash and it was an easy decision to say yes! It was a well-organised and fun event, getting to meet the other mascots before the race, to speak to other charities, and to win the race for Aching Arms meant everything to me. I hope that this will help to raise more awareness for this amazing charity.”
