Adam and Ross, bereaved dads, as they finished one of the three peaks for Globals Make Some Noise as Aching Arms ambassadors

05/10/2023

A year has passed since our journey with Global's Make Some Noise campaign began in the summer of 2022. Looking back, it's amazing to see how far we've come. Our founder, Leanne Turner, her partner Mark, and their 10-year-old son Cameron, accompanied by dedicated volunteers Ilana and Adam Manning, made a memorable visit to Global's HQ. There, they recorded heartfelt personal stories that highlighted how Aching Arms had made a significant impact on their lives.

Fast forward to October 6th of the same year, on Global's Make Some Noise Day. It was a day of incredible dedication and endurance as our fantastic ambassadors, Ross Sullivan and Adam Manning, along with Amanda Holden from Heart FM Radio, took on the grueling 24-hour Three Peaks Challenge. Their unwavering commitment touched the hearts of many.

Leanne, and her family along with our ambassadors Jade Lewis and Ilana Manning once again found themselves at Global's HQ, witnessing the incredible efforts of the Make Some Noise Day Team. They were joined by ambassadors Jade Lewis and Ilana Manning, who generously shared their own experiences with Capital FM and LBC Radio stations. Their candid discussions about the support they received from Aching Arms during their difficult times reached countless other families who were listening, offering them hope and solace. The funds raised during this event will be put to meaningful use by our charity.

Claire Shuttleworth, our  Project Lead, will oversee our Be Together Programme, made possible thanks to the grant from Global's Make Some Noise. This program will extend its reach throughout the UK, providing opportunities for grieving families to come together, knowing they are not alone in their journey.

The Be Together programme goes beyond traditional support groups, offering families the chance to participate in various activities, from wilderness days to picnics, animal handling to craft workshops. These gatherings allow them to find comfort among those who share similar experiences and remember their precious babies.

To Global's Make Some Noise and everyone who contributed to the campaign, on behalf of our trustees, staff, volunteers, and the families we serve, we extend our heartfelt gratitude. Your generosity has made an immense difference, and the impact will ripple far and wide. Remember, you've ensured that no one walks this path alone.
